Cotignac is situated on the road
to d'Entrecasteaux just 8 - 10 minutes walking from the village. A calm, private
villa of 2 adjacent houses, the larger one with a tower. Cotignac is
situated in the interior of the region Var in the center of Provence at 230m
altitude. The village enjoys what the locals call a 'micro-climate' This is a
village of character with a waterfall in the background. Cotignac stands at the
foot of a majestic great rock. Visitors to the old quarter, set next to the
cliff, can see houses of the 16th and 17th century. Stone or wrought iron
decorations and narrow streets, all are witnesses to the long and interesting
part of Cotignac. There are many fountains bubbling with cool, clear water. The
'Cours' (court) is sheltered for the heat in summer by plane trees and cooled by
the ever flowing fountain. This is a lively place full of restaurants, cafès,
hotel and shops. The great rock stretching for about 400 m is quite an awesome
sight to see and bears a legend. This massive cliff called 'Le Rocher' hovers 80
m above the houses built at the bottom.The shadows caused by the moving sun
constantly changes the aspects of the sides of the cliff. One can see at all
times giant stalactites, ledges and deep crags. It is truly a breathtaking sight
to be seen. You will fall under the charm of this truly provençal
village.
Just 8 minutes walking from the Provençal village of Cotignac, sleeping 5 - 7 in 2 adjacent houses, this villa set in a large garden with olive trees among others typical for the Provence. The villa consists of the main house and a cottage. Both houses are self-contained and equipped for living all round the year and are easily accessed one to the other over an ample, paved terrace shaded by trees. The large house sleeps 4 comfortably and consists of a spacious living-room with open fireplace and 2 sofa-beds, TV room with small library, separate dining room, modern equipped kitchen, 2 double bedrooms, bathroom with shower and WC. and also an office with telephone and fax facilities.Outside, with indoor access from the living room, is a very large glassed-in terrace facing south with a beautiful view of the ancient and renowned Chapel Notre Dame des Graces set in the forest surrounded by the Mont Verdailles. Outside furniture is provided for outside meals. All round the year during the day whilst sitting on this terrace enjoy panoramic views. The cottage is sympathetically restored and sleeps 2 comfortably all round the year. It consists of a spacious double bedroom, a roomy bathroom with shower and a live-in kitchen.with a fold-downle sofa and TV The kitchen looks out onto the stones paved terrace with a sweeping view of the hills and vineyards right up to the village of Carces and beyond The sunny and shaded terrace offers a calm, ideal setting for small and large-scale outdoor meals all year round. Off the cottage is the Laundrette equipped with a fully automatic washing machine. Central natural gas heating in the main house. Cleaning and linen costs not included. Firewood on demand.
